Four dates every UAE business owner needs to know. Mark them.
Pilot Programme (Voluntary)
Early adopters can begin using the Peppol e-invoicing system voluntarily. This is your window to test and prepare without penalties.
Large Taxpayers Must Comply
Businesses with annual revenue of 50M or more are required to issue all B2B and B2G invoices through the Peppol network.
ALL Businesses Must ComplyYour Deadline
Every business in the UAE must use e-invoicing for all B2B and B2G transactions. No exceptions. Non-compliance triggers penalties immediately.
Government Entities Must Comply
All government entities must issue and receive invoices exclusively through the Peppol e-invoicing system.
Published penalty amounts from the UAE tax authority.
These are not hypothetical numbers. These are the published penalty amounts from the UAE tax authority.
For every invoice issued outside the e-invoicing system. Issue 100 invoices a month? That is 10,000 in fines every month.
For failing to appoint an Accredited Service Provider to connect your business to the Peppol network.
Non-compliant invoices may be disallowed for input VAT deductions. Your VAT recovery could be rejected entirely.
A trading company sending 50 invoices per month non compliant from July 2027 owes:
5,000 in per invoice fines + 5,000 ASP penalty = 10,000 per month. 120,000 per year. Plus the input VAT recovery you may lose on top.

What Peppol Requires From Your Business.
This is not a software upgrade. It is a fundamental change in how invoices are created, transmitted, and reported.
Machine Readable XML Invoices
All invoices must be in PINT-AE or UBL format. PDF invoices and paper invoices will no longer be accepted for B2B and B2G transactions.
Accredited Service Provider
Invoices must be transmitted through accredited service providers on the Peppol network. You cannot self-transmit.
Near Real Time Reporting
Invoice data is reported to the tax authority in near real time. No more quarterly or annual batch submissions.
Every B2B and B2G Invoice
This applies to all business to business and business to government invoices, whether your business is VAT registered or not.

Peppol E-Invoicing FAQ.
Common questions about the UAE e-invoicing mandate and how to prepare.
Does Peppol apply to my business?+
Yes. Starting July 2027, all B2B and B2G transactions in the UAE must use Peppol e-invoicing, regardless of your VAT registration status. If you issue invoices to other businesses or government entities, you must comply.
What happens if I do not comply?+
100 per invoice issued outside the e-invoicing system. 5,000 per month for not appointing an Accredited Service Provider. Potential disallowance of your input VAT claims, which means you lose your VAT recovery.
How long does it take to get compliant?+
4 weeks with OSForBiz. Our Starter package covers core accounting and invoicing with full UAE VAT configuration. Growth and Professional packages take 8 to 18 weeks for businesses needing inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, or HRMS.
What if I already use accounting software?+
Most accounting tools are not Peppol compliant. QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, and Excel spreadsheets do not generate PINT-AE formatted XML invoices or transmit through the Peppol network. Take our free readiness assessment to check your current setup.
